Role Summary

We are expanding our business and are therefore looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team in the role of Senior Accountant. In this role you will report directly to the Head of Finance reporting, and you will apply accepted accounting-tax principles and procedures, gather & analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely accounting reports/statements, and ensure accounting control procedures are followed. As part of your role, you will also liaise with third party providers, as well as corporate administration functions. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation and posting of manual journal entries (accruals, reclasses, netting) according to IFRS Gap and tax legislation
  • Update & reconcile payable and warehouse accounts
  • Maintain accuracy of our A/R ledgers and Reconciliation of accounts
  • Process our Supplier invoices in a timely and accurate manner, including entry of invoices into accounting systems, and maintain our files in a tidy and organized manner
  • Perform procedures regarding Fixed Assets (post purchases, depreciation check, and reconciliation of Fixed Assets Register to GL)
  • Banks reconciliations.
  • Perform various period-end financial close activities within specific deadlines and manage discrepancies.
  • Efficiently resolve any problems prior to raising and posting of entries
  • Bookkeeping of imports from EU - Third countries and participate in the preparation of the monthly declarations for Listing/Intrastat/VIES
  • Supports month-end and year - end activities 
  • Maintains a structured (digital) filing system for corporate documents and files supporting documentation
  • Management reports for running costs, accounts, expenses, and purchases
  • Other Standards and Ad-hoc activities 

Required Skills & Experience

  • BS degree in Finance & Accounting, additional computer training or certification will be an asset
  • Experience in an Accounting position of at least two-four years
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and data programs
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Team player, motivated and self-driven with strong sense of ownership
  • Fluency in English
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 knowledge will be appreciated
