Role Summary

The Simulation Engineer will be a member of Theon Design & Development Department and will work together with a multidisciplinary team of engineers. The Simulation Engineer works closely with design engineers and contributes on the development of company's new products and the optimization of existing products.

 

 Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set up structural & thermal finite element analyses and interpret the results.
  • Work collaboratively with design engineers from the early stage of products' development.
  • Work closely with test engineers during prototyping and validation stages.

 

Required/Minimum Education & Qualifications

  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering, computational mechanics or relevant field.
  • Minimum years of professional experience in engineering environment: MS+4, or PhD+2.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of finite element method.
  • Professional experience in structural and/or thermal analysis simulations.
  • Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fluent in writing and speaking English.

 

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering environment: MS+7, or PhD+5.
  • Professional experience with commercial FEA packages (ANSYS, Abaqus, Altair, Moldex3D).
  • Experience with fast dynamic simulations.
  • Understanding of nonlinearities and their impact in structural simulations.
  • Understanding of advanced materials modelling such as composites, short fiber thermoplastics.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages, e.g. Python, Matlab.
  • Working experience in defense industry will be considered as a plus.
