Main tasks:

• Engagement in collaborative cutting-edge 5G/6G research for both the civilian and defence sectors, working together with European organizations (leading EU industries, SMEs, universities, research centers)
• Research and development on 5G/5G+ technologies, including architecture, protocols, and performance optimization.
• Analysis, design and implementation of experimental testbeds based on the 5G/5G+ technology stack
• Implementation and testing of 5G Core network functions (open-source stacks such as Open5GS, free5GC, OAI)
• Integration of 5G/NTN architectures (3GPP Rel-17/18 NTN specifications), including satellite and aerial segments
• Selection of technologies for implementation
• Development of technical documentation, including specifications, design documents, and test plans
• Support for technical deliverables and reporting within Horizon Europe / EDF project frameworks
• Contribution to scientific publications

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in the field of Computer Science and/or Telecommunications
• Good knowledge of C/C++ and Python
• Familiarity with the 5G technology stack, incl. 3GPP Release 17/18 specifications
• Experience with open-source 5G stacks (Open5GS, free5GC, OpenAirInterface)
• Good knowledge of Linux
• Excellent knowledge of English (both written & spoken)

Preferred qualifications:

• A PhD in Telecommunications will be considered an advantage
• Experience in collaborative R&D projects (National/European)
• Contributions to related open-source telecom projects or published research in journals or conferences
