Mechanical Engineer – Shift Leader in Drama, Greece

The Mechanical Engineer – Shift Leader is responsible for overseeing shift-based production activities in the Machine Shop. The role ensures that manufactured components meet design specifications, supervises and supports staff, coordinates schedules, addresses equipment and process issues, and contributes to continuous improvement of workflows and quality standards in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
 

Responsibilities

• Supervise Machine Shop Team Leaders and machine operators to ensure components are produced according to design specifications.
• Organize and monitor the shift schedule and act as a technical advisor to Team Leaders.
• Coordinate with supervisors of other departments to resolve production flow issues.
• Evaluate the performance of subordinate employees.
• Conduct time studies and cost analysis to support process optimization.
• Ensure all documentation (production drawings, BOMs, production orders) is accurate, up to date, and properly understood by the team.
• Address equipment needs and follows up on maintenance or repair requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve in-process production issues.
• Train new employees and assist in facility layout improvements and workflow optimization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required (Polytechnic School).
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably machine shop)
• Knowledge of sheet metal and solid-part processing equipment.
• Excellent command of English (oral and written).
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); SAP knowledge is considered a plus.
• Ability to work on rotating shifts.
