Role’s description:

As a Unit Manager, you will oversee the overall operation of the fish farming unit, coordinating teams and processes to ensure smooth and efficient production, with a strong focus on fish health and product quality.

Responsibilities:

·         Oversee daily operations of the fish farming unit to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production.

·         Plan and monitor production processes, including feeding schedules, growth tracking, and inventory management.

·         Coordinate and supervise teams, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing guidance and support.

·         Ensure fish health and welfare, implementing preventive measures, monitoring water quality, and responding to any health issues promptly.

·         Maintain quality standards in all production stages, ensuring compliance with internal protocols and industry regulations.

·         Implement health & safety practices to protect staff, ensuring a safe working environment and adherence to regulations (HACCP, ISO, etc.).

·         Track operational performance, identify issues or bottlenecks, and propose improvements to optimize productivity and efficiency.

·         Prepare and submit reports on production, team performance, and operational issues to management.

·         Collaborate with other departments to align unit operations with company goals and strategic plans.

 

Qualifications:

·        Degree in Fisheries Science or a related field (Biology, Animal Science, Agronomy, etc.).

·        Minimum 5 years of experience in a fish farming unit or in a supervisory role.

·        Excellent knowledge of fish farming processes, feeding, and health management.

·        Experience in team management and coordination.

·        Knowledge of quality management systems and health & safety for personnel (HACCP, ISO, etc.)

·        Good command of English.

·        Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
