About the role

As a member of the OSS Inventory Systems DevOps Chapter, the candidate shall be responsible for the execution of IT Operational Support System (OSS) projects using the waterfall or agile models.

The role involves active participation in the context of the necessary coordination activities towards the stakeholders and the management of external system integrators and active contribution in the development of implementations, testing, troubleshooting and support.

The successful candidate must be able to work exclusively in a hybrid model (dedicated days of on-site presence and remote work during a working week), as per the company’s policy.

The position can involve compensated standby, on a weekly per month assignment, and compensated callouts in case of urgent issue handling.

 

Duties & responsibilities

  • Executes the chapter’s projects, covering all aspects of the Telco lifecycle using the waterfall or agile model
  • Evaluates the requirements and how they can be integrated into technology solutions, and assesses the technological options for implementation (bridge between business and technology)
  • Analyses, Designs, Configures and develops OSS provisioning implementations for the chapter’s IT Systems, taking into account Security best practices and ensuring compliance with the Company’s Security principles & procedures
  • Prepares the necessary functional and technical documentation
  • Conducts Unit Testing, System Integration Tests, Performance Tests and coordinates User Acceptance Tests for assigned projects, where necessary
  • Ensures quality of the solutions under his/her responsibility and that they comply with Production fallout KPIs
  • Coordinates vendors and internal customers, ensures quality of deliverables and compliance to the agreed time plans

 

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field
  • Proven experience in OSS area and in particular Inventory experience.
  • Proven experience in Oracle SQL & Relational Databases
  • Proven experience in one or more programming languages, such as Java, JavaScript, or C++
  • Proven experience in running medium and/or large-scale projects
  • Very good knowledge of the English language
  • Strong problem-solving skills to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
  • Awareness of security best practices including encryption, authentication, and authorization mechanisms, to build secure software
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, gather requirements
  • Experience in writing unit tests and conducting debugging to ensure the reliability and quality of software
  • Ability to create clear and concise documentation for functional and technical specifications
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with evolving technologies and best practices in software engineering

 

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience in Ericsson Adaptive Inventory or Telcordia Granite will be strongly appreciated.
  • Previous experience in other Inventory systems will be appreciated
  • Previous experience in any of the following suites will be regarded as an advantage:
  • Oracle OSS Suite (OSM, UIM, ASAP)
