About the role

The successful candidate will provide design, implementation and support services for OTE/ICT IT Network utilizing IP networking/security technologies.

Duties & responsibilities

• Design, implementation & support of network systems for OTE corporate network as well as for ICT customers. (LAN, WAN, WLAN, Data Center).
• Solves hardware / software / configuration problems of network equipment in order to seamless and efficient interconnection of business applications.
• Configures network equipment and designs / implements security mechanisms aimed at the smooth operation of information systems and harmonization with corporate security policy.
• Participates in IT projects for the implementation of new information systems in order to ensure the best network communication between them.
• Designs network topologies and architectures in order to optimally interconnect information systems and ensure the quality of IT services provided.
• Evaluates technical proposals for the supply of network equipment and services in order to ensure that the technical requirements are met and the selection of the optimal solution.
• Collaborates with teams of infrastructure, software development and systems operation on application issues in order to optimize the quality of IT services provided.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field
• Very good knowledge in management and configuration of Cisco network equipment
• Good knowledge in network security solutions (firewalls, IDS / IPS, WAF) of various vendors (eg Cisco, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Fortinet)
• Good knowledge in using NAC solutions (eg Cisco ISE), load balancing, DNS, proxy, IPSec VPN, WLAN, NMS tools
• Very good knowledge of the English language (Β2 Lower)
• 2-3 years of experience in a similar position

 Preferred Skills

• Basic knowledge in managing platform virtualization (VMware vSphere), operating systems (Windows, Linux), shell scripting using Bash, Python
• Basic knowledge of cloud technologies (Azure)
• Interest in following new technological trends and objects
• Ability to manage complex projects and resolve complex issues
• Ability to take initiatives
