Role Description

 

SPRINGFIELD SHIPPING COMPANY PANAMA S.A. the Tanker Management arm of the Onassis Shipping Group is looking for an experienced Electrical Superintendent to join the team. This key role provides technical expertise in all electrical and automation matters, ensuring the safe operation and proper maintenance of the managed vessels.

 

Main responsibilities include:

  • Provide expert technical support on electrical, automation and pneumatic systems to Technical Superintendents and Crew
  • Provide technical support for telecommunications/radio navigation systems
  • Ensure effective maintenance and repairs of electrical and automation systems in collaboration with the Fleet Managers and Technical Superintendents
  • Oversee and support troubleshooting and repairs during extraordinary situations
  • Attend vessels to evaluate the condition of systems relevant to the role, providing training to the Crew as necessary
  • Organize drydocking and servicing related to these systems and attend vessels in shipyard, ensuring compliance with safety standards and specifications
  • Review and verify electrical spare parts requisitions for accuracy and reasonable quantities, advising the Purchasing team on orders
  • Monitor checklists and Planned Maintenance System (PMS) relevant to the role
  • Collect and analyze technical data to generate accurate reports and KPIs that support performance improvement of electrical systems
  • Stay up to date with technological advancements in electrical energy and automation systems onboard vessel

 

Requirements

 

Eligible candidates should meet the following requirements:

 

  • A university degree in Electrical and Automation Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 6 years of professional experience in a similar role
  • Strong hands-on experience within Tanker operations
  • Proficiency in English language (verbal and written)
  • Very good command of MS Office Applications
  • Flexibility to travel on board

 

Additional qualifications that will be considered as an advantage:

  • Knowledge of Danaos ERP system
  • Seagoing experience
  • Authorization/certification from various equipment makers
