OLYMPIC SHIPPING GROUP continues and expands Aristotle Onassis’ shipping legacy, with a successful history of more than 70 years and a fleet of 16 tankers. 

Role Description

SPRINGFIELD SHIPPING COMPANY PANAMA SA the Tanker Management arm of the Onassis Shipping Group seeks to employ a Marine Superintendent who will be supervising all functions relating to the marine management of the fleet and reporting to the Fleet Manager.

Main responsibilities include:

·       Planning and coordinating Oil Major Companies vetting inspections and following up captured deficiencies. Attending pre-vetting inspections.

·       In cooperation with the Technical and HSQE department assisting as necessary vessels’ requirements in relation with safety and environmental performance

·       Preparation of marine matters for vessels’ drydocking/repairs

·       Inspecting ships for the assessment of their condition; Ensuring the effective implementation of preventive maintenance of the vessel’s hull, deck equipment, etc.

·       Visiting ships for carrying out navigation audits, cargo audits, bunkering audits, HSQE internal audits

·       Facilitating on board the implementation of MPIS initiative by organizing Reflective Learning, Resilience and Learning Engagement Tool (LET) sessions

·       Follow up of navigating issues, including ECDIS and digital publications

·       Reviewing of requisitions received from ships and forwarding to Purch. Dept. following the approval of the Fleet Manager

·       Ensuring that ships are provided with the required nautical charts and publications

Requirements 

Eligible candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Master's Licence
  • 2-4 previous years of working experience in the same position
  • Excellent knowledge of tanker operations
  • Very Good command of English language
  • Excellent knowledge of ISM, Oil Major and ISO requirements
  • Ability to travel frequently
