Financial Associate (F&B & Retail Operations)

The Onassis Foundation is seeking a Financial Associate to oversee the financial performance and reporting of its F&B and retail operations. The role will provide management with timely, accurate and actionable financial insights, supporting business performance monitoring, risk management and decision-making.

Main responsibilities:

Monitor financial performance, including revenue, expenses, profitability, gross margin, cash flow and key business KPIs
Perform Budget vs Actual analysis, identify variances and provide insights on business performance and trends
Review and validate financial and operational data received from accounting teams, business units and external partners
Monitor sales performance, POS activity, cash reconciliations, inventory and cost control processes
Assess store performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability, margins and operational efficiency
Identify financial and operational risks and recommend corrective actions
Prepare monthly management reports, dashboards and ad hoc financial analyses
Support forecasting, budgeting and business planning activities
Act as a key liaison between operations, accounting teams, external advisors and management

Requirements:

Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field
4-5 years of experience in Financial Accounting. Previous experience in F&B and retail operations, ideally in multi-site environments, will be considered a strong advantage
Strong understanding of financial statements, P&L analysis and cash flow management
Advanced Excel skills
Experience with ERP systems, reporting tools and myDATA
Strong analytical, problem-solving and reporting skills

Interpersonal competencies:

Strong business partnering and stakeholder management skills
Ability to translate financial data into clear and actionable business insights
Excellent communication skills and confidence working with non-financial stakeholders
Proactive, hands-on and solution-oriented approach
Ability to build effective working relationships across functions and operational teams
