Automation Engineer
Milkplan is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Automation Engineer to join our R&D Automation Team. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers with a passion for automation systems in dairy and farming applications. About the Role:
As an Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions for our customers. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our automated systems.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement PLC programs for various automation applications in the dairy and farming sector.
- Design and configure HMI interfaces for monitoring and control.
- Work with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs/Inverters) for motor control and optimization in agricultural equipment.
- Interpret and create electrical schematics and designs.
- Create and update the products’ manuals according to their operational features.
- Troubleshoot automation system issues efficiently.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, including engineers, technicians, and farming specialists.
- Participate in project planning and execution, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices, particularly those related to agricultural environments.
- When required, attend customer meetings to support the sales force and management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in PLC programming (specify preferred platforms, e.g., Siemens, Schneider Electric) mostly in LD and FBD.
- Experience in HMI development (specify preferred platforms).
- Solid understanding of VFDs and their field of use.
- Proficiency in reading and creating electrical drawings.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Fluency in, both writing and speaking, English and Greek.
