About the job

The successful candidate will support product qualification and certification activities for electronic and electromechanical systems. The role is central to ensuring that our products meet applicable regulatory, customer, and internal requirements, from interpreting technical standards through to planning, executing, and documenting qualification campaigns.

This role requires a strong engineering background combined with hands‑on experience in environmental and compliance testing, as well as the ability to translate complex technical standards into clear test requirements and well‑structured, traceable compliance evidence.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Interpret product requirements and applicable standards to define qualification and certification scope (MIL, ECSS, IEC, ISO, DO‑160)
  • Develop qualification strategies, including test plans, procedures, and qualification/compliance matrices
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee qualification test campaigns at internal laboratories and external test facilities
  • Analyse test results, lead failure and root cause investigations, and produce qualification reports, compliance matrices, and NCRs
  • Act as primary interface with external test laboratories and certification bodies, while maintaining complete qualification and certification documentation in line with project requirements

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Language Requirements

  • BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline
  • 3–5 years of direct experience in product qualification and certification activities
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply technical standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g. MIL‑STD, ECSS, IEC, ISO, DO‑160)
  • Hands‑on experience planning and executing environmental and compliance testing (thermal, thermal cycling, vibration, shock, humidity, EMC / EMI)
  • Good understanding of EMC / EMI requirements for electronic and electromechanical products
  • Familiarity with electronic hardware, PCB assemblies, mechanical hardware, and electromechanical systems
  • Experience working with external test laboratories, certification bodies, and customer compliance teams
  • Ability to analyse test results, document findings, and manage non‑conformances in a structured manner
  • Strong technical documentation and reporting skills

Nice to have

  • Experience in defense or space sectors (DO-160, ECSS, MIL-STD environments)
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or EN9100 Quality Management Systems
  • Exposure to FMEA, reliability analysis, or FRACAS processes
  • Experience with product acceptance testing in addition to qualification activities
  • Background in radar, RF, or sensor system development
