Corporate NPL Relationship Manager

Position Overview

The Asset Manager is responsible for ensuring the maximum performance of their assigned NPL Wholesale (Corporate / SME) portfolio by designing and implementing appropriate restructuring and recovery solutions, in full alignment with the applicable regulatory and legal framework.

Main Accountabilities

  • Reviews cases in depth (financial statements analysis, business plan viability assessment, collateral valuation, sector analysis, etc.) and formulates restructuring strategies in line with the NPE plan, policy and overall strategy.
  • Coordinates, proposes and follows up on legal actions (enforcement proceedings, insolvency filings, auction processes, etc.) for the efficient management of non-performing exposures, in cooperation with competent internal units and external legal/advisory partners.
  • Communicates with debtors to assess willingness to pay and affordability, evaluates business plans and financial standing, and negotiates optimal restructuring solutions with debtors and other creditors
  • Cooperates with other creditors and/or stakeholders (banks, funds, advisors) to reach common restructuring solutions, particularly in syndicated or club-deal transactions
  • Prepares and presents restructuring proposals before the competent Credit/Investment Committees
  • Monitors debtors' compliance with restructuring agreements and contractual terms, tracks collateral revaluations and covenant adherence
  • Oversees the overall progress of assigned cases and coordinates with all involved parties (internal/external lawyers, consulting firms, REO team, Legal operations and Back Office) for the timely implementation of approved decisions
  • Supports internal units by providing case-level data relevant to individual impairment assessments and write-offs, where applicable
  • Maintains and updates debtors' files with all required documentation and ensures accurate data entry within the servicing platform for legal and reporting purposes
  • Contributes to portfolio reporting and supports KPI monitoring by ensuring timely and accurate update of case-level data and progress within the servicing platform

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Banking, Law or any other Business-related field
  • Master's degree and/or professional qualifications will be considered an asset
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in Banking or Financial Services, with preference for experience in Corporate/SME NPL management, restructuring or workout units
  • Strong knowledge of the Greek legal framework governing NPEs, including enforcement proceedings, insolvency law, out-of-court workout mechanisms etc.; hands-on involvement in legal actions across all stages will be considered a strong asset
  • Solid understanding of credit risk analysis, financial modelling and business plan assessment for corporate and SME borrowers
  • Knowledge of real estate collateral assessment principles will be considered an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Greek and English
  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with NPL servicing platforms will be considered an asset
