About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant - Procurement Officer - to join our team. This role bridges the gap between accounting and procurement, focusing on maintaining accurate financial records while ensuring the company’s procurement needs are met efficiently and cost-effectively.   

Key Responsibilities 

Accounting Duties 

  • Record and manage all procurement-related financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies.
  • Monitor and process accounts payable, verifying supplier invoices against contracts and purchase orders.
  • Support the preparation of monthly and annual accounting reports, with a focus on procurement activities. 
  • Assist in budgeting, cost control, and financial forecasting for procurement expenditures. 

Procurement Duties  

  • Handle sourcing, supplier evaluation, and procurement of goods and services in line with company policies.
  • Manage procurement documentation, including purchase orders, contracts, and delivery receipts.
  • Ensure timely and accurate procurement to avoid disruptions in business operations. 
  • Make entries, control, and update records for contract management, ensuring that all contract terms, renewals, and compliance requirements are consistently maintained. 

Collaboration & Reporting. 

  • Work closely with finance, operations, and other departments to align procurement plans with business goals. 
  • Provide insights and recommendations on cost-saving opportunities and supplier performance. 
  • Maintain compliance with tax laws and procurement regulations, ensuring proper documentation for audits. 

Qualifications and Requirements 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • Professional Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience, with a strong foundation in accounting and exposure to procurement activities. Experience in financial services, receivables management, or similar industries is beneficial. 
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and procurement processes. 
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial and accounting software (e.g., Galaxy) and procurement tools.  
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
