Front-end Web Developer | Athens/Thessaloniki

Description

We are looking for a Front-end Web Developer to join our team. The Front-end Developer plays a crucial role in implementing user interfaces for digital projects on behalf of our clients at Wedia.  

Among the things you will do during your day are:

• Collaborate with your team’s Technical Lead to understand what needs to be implemented and determine the best way to do it.
• Create web user interfaces based on provided visuals.
• Diligently follow strict coding standards set by the company.
• Develop front end applications and themes at the level of HTML, CSS, and Javascript for projects involving websites, news portals, e-shops, and custom applications.
• Work closely with our UX & UI Designers to bring to life what they have envisioned and designed, both on a visual level in Figma and on an interactive level with Javascript mechanisms and micro-interactions.
• Collaborate with our Back-end team members who are responsible for the technical implementation of the applications.
• Add front end functionality and deliver improvements to existing dynamic websites and applications, which may have been initially implemented by other front-end developers.
• Clarify in a timely manner any issues that might delay the project or prevent us from achieving the best possible outcome, and stick to the timelines we have all agreed upon and promised to the client.
• Test responsibly to ensure everything works as it should, so it’s ready for deployment to the production environment.
• Ensure compatibility with search engines, correct form validations, fast page execution, and accessibility.
• Inspect and approve work delivered by less experienced front-end developers within project teams.
• Participate in discussions with the User Interface Designer team during the visual design phase. Ensure the proposed interfaces are technically feasible.
• Be involved in decisions regarding the adoption of current and future front end technologies.

Requirements

Technical qualifications

• Completed studies at a Higher or University-level institution in Greece or abroad, in a field related to Computer Science and Software Development.
• At least 3 years of experience in Front-end programming.
• Proficiency in HTML5 and CSS3.
• Familiarity with a modern front-end building tool such as Webpack or Vite.
• Desired work experience with Tailwind CSS.
• Knowledge of modern JavaScript.
• Desired work experience in React or other JavaScript frameworks.
• Desired work experience in Next.js.
• Very good knowledge of technologies used for creating accessible websites (WCAG A, AA).
• Familiarity with SEO principles and their application in user interface implementation.
• Experience working with Figma to obtain visuals for website development.
• Good knowledge of Git.
