We are looking for an ambitious Innovation & Strategic Growth Projects Lead who will orchestrate the lifecycle of high-stakes initiatives within our scouting and assessment team, will be responsible for the seamless coordination of internal technical experts and external partners to evaluate, integrate, and develop next-generation solutions. The focus will span from short-term technical due diligence for M&A to long-term R&T programmes that shape our multi-domain roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Coordination: Manage the complex timelines and resources of technical assessment projects, ensuring they meet critical decision gates for M&A and investment boards.
- Stakeholder Orchestration: Act as the central liaison between internal engineering leads (Optronics, Space, UAS, Software Development etc.) and external entities, including target startups, academic partners, and defense agencies.
- Innovation & R&T Roadmap: Manage the transition of "New Concepts" from initial scouted prototypes to formal R&T projects or product improvement initiatives.
- Risk & Performance Management: Monitor technical performance milestones, budgetary health (Triple Constraint), and geopolitical or technological risks across the scouting portfolio.
- Post-M&A Integration: Lead the "technical bridge" during the post-acquisition phase, ensuring the smooth integration of new technologies into existing company solutions.
- Strategic Reporting: Provide senior leadership with data-driven insights on programme progress and the "health" of current innovation initiatives.
Candidate Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related Engineering or Science field (e.g., Aerospace, Telecommunications, Systems Engineering, Software Development or Cyber/ICT) is highly welcomed to ensure "technical fluency" with subject matter experts.
- Experience: 5+ years in Program or Project Management within the Defence, Security, or High-Tech sectors.
- Certifications: Professional certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 Practitioner is strongly preferred.
- Domain Familiarity: Broad understanding of at least two of our key niches: UAS, Data Links, Optronics, or New Space.
- Soft Skills: Proven ability to navigate organisational politics, build consensus among diverse stakeholders, and communicate technical complexity to financial/business leaders.
Methodology & Tools
- Proficiency in Agile/Hybrid frameworks (Scrum, SAFe) and AI-enhanced project management platforms.
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and defence-specific acquisition frameworks.
