Junior Accountant
BOX NOW is reshaping last-mile delivery in Greece through our smart parcel locker network and digital-first customer experience. As we scale rapidly, we’re strengthening our Finance team to keep our operations smooth, transparent and customer-centric. We’re looking for a detail-oriented Junior Accountant whose primary focus will be processing customer refunds and performing account reconciliations. You’ll work closely with teams to ensure accuracy in refund issuance, maintain up-to-date ledger balances, and support month-end close.
Responsibilities
· Review refund requests and supporting documentation.
· Initiate and track refund payments (bank transfers, credit-card reversals, voucher issuances).
· Communicate with customers and internal teams to clarify and resolve refund issues.
· Reconcile daily transaction batches against bank statements and payment-gateway reports.
· Investigate and clear reconciling items (timing differences, chargebacks, fees).
· Post refund and adjustment journal entries accurately and timely.
· Ensure sub-ledger and general ledger balances agree.
· Assist in preparing daily/weekly reports on refund volumes, aging of unreconciled items, and exception logs.
· Highlight trends or discrepancies to the Finance Manager.
· Help with cut-off testing for receivables and payables.
· Verify that all refund-related entries are captured.
· Support the wider team on special projects, audits, or data-cleanup initiatives as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
· 0–2 years of practical accounting experience (internship or entry-level preferred).
· Familiarity with Greek VAT rules and basic tax concepts.
· Hands-on proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
· Experience or willingness to learn Epsilon Net, or similar ERP/accounting platforms.
· Methodical mindset with high attention to detail.
· Strong verbal/written communication skills in Greek and English.
· Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
