Construction Mechanical Engineer
In AVAX S.A. energy and industrial works department we are focused on deploying the highest quality of Oil and Gas and Renewable Energy projects.
AVAX S.A. offers a wide range of services from project development to engineering, construction and operation of various projects.
We are looking for a Construction Mechanical Engineer, full time – unlimited, for employment abroad (Europe-Romania).
Objectives
As Construction Manager you will oversee and coordinate various construction prospects from start to finish, ensuring that schedules and budgets are followed.
Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate a project from start to finish, including organizing the schedule of work, costings and budget
- Plan the work and oversee the buying of necessary materials and equipment
- Hire and manage staff for the project
- Manage the construction site on a day-to-day basis, including supervising the labor force, monitoring subcontractors, checking materials, inspecting work and overseeing quality control
- Coordination and management of Erection Subcontractors.
- Coordination with site management teams for the execution of erection activities.
- Coordination between internal stakeholders (engineering, procurement, QC, HSE and project management).
- Ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget by setting benchmarks, agreeing budgets and monitoring progress
- Promote and maintain health and safety, including site inspections to ensure safety rules are being followed
- Conduct and document quality assurance and safety inspections throughout the construction process, ensuring that the work environment is acceptable and that tools and equipment are in good working condition.
- Prepare reports
- Maintain regular communication and attend meetings with clients and their representatives to inform them of progress on the project
- Provide direction to general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors when doing groundwork to ensure that quality standards are being met.
- Evaluation and management of Subcontractors’ claims.
- Prepare and manage estimates, budgets, timetables, and resources
- Identify, mitigate, and track recurring construction issues
- Respond efficiently and effectively to work delays, emergencies, and other project disruptions
Qualifications And Experience
- Mechanical Engineering Degree or Diploma (5-year degree)
- Five (5) year minimum experience on the above descripted responsibilities or part of them.
- Problem-solving skills, written and verbal communication skills, time management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of general software (MS Office etc.)
- Ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple project responsibilities
- Willing to work on a national and international environment
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Fluent in Greek (written and spoken)
