Construction Mechanical Engineer

In AVAX S.A. energy and industrial works department we are focused on deploying the highest quality of Oil and Gas and Renewable Energy projects.

AVAX S.A. offers a wide range of services from project development to engineering, construction and operation of various projects.

We are looking for a Construction Mechanical Engineer, full time – unlimited, for employment abroad (Europe-Romania).

Objectives
As Construction Manager you will oversee and coordinate various construction prospects from start to finish, ensuring that schedules and budgets are followed.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate a project from start to finish, including organizing the schedule of work, costings and budget
  • Plan the work and oversee the buying of necessary materials and equipment
  • Hire and manage staff for the project
  • Manage the construction site on a day-to-day basis, including supervising the labor force, monitoring subcontractors, checking materials, inspecting work and overseeing quality control
  • Coordination and management of Erection Subcontractors.
  • Coordination with site management teams for the execution of erection activities.
  • Coordination between internal stakeholders (engineering, procurement, QC, HSE and project management).
  • Ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget by setting benchmarks, agreeing budgets and monitoring progress
  • Promote and maintain health and safety, including site inspections to ensure safety rules are being followed
  • Conduct and document quality assurance and safety inspections throughout the construction process, ensuring that the work environment is acceptable and that tools and equipment are in good working condition.
  • Prepare reports
  • Maintain regular communication and attend meetings with clients and their representatives to inform them of progress on the project
  • Provide direction to general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors when doing groundwork to ensure that quality standards are being met.
  • Evaluation and management of Subcontractors’ claims.
  • Prepare and manage estimates, budgets, timetables, and resources
  • Identify, mitigate, and track recurring construction issues
  • Respond efficiently and effectively to work delays, emergencies, and other project disruptions

Qualifications And Experience

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or Diploma (5-year degree)
  • Five (5) year minimum experience on the above descripted responsibilities or part of them.
  • Problem-solving skills, written and verbal communication skills, time management and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of general software (MS Office etc.)
  • Ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple project responsibilities
  • Willing to work on a national and international environment
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Fluent in Greek (written and spoken)
