Accountant

attica department stores is currently in search of an experienced Accountant as a part of our General Accounting Department at our headquarters in Athens.

Key Accountabilities:

• Reconciliation of General Ledger, Vendor and Customer balances, on a daily, monthly basis.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of financial data to the MyData platform (AADE).
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of all accounting transactions.
• Manage fixed assets register, including capitalization, depreciation and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external partners (tax advisors, auditors).
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Support accounting process improvements and internal controls.

Skills Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a relevant role with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and/or IFRS accounting standards requirements.
• Proven working experience in ERP Systems. Working Knowledge of SAP – ERP will be considered as an asset.
• Excellent command of the English language.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications.
• Ability to demonstrate attention to details, accuracy and a problem – solving approach.
• Ability to gather, plan and organize information to make the right decision, meeting strict deadlines.
• Previous experience in the FMCG sector will be considered an additional asset.
