Grid & Storage Project Engineer

Aktor Group of Companies. is looking for a Grid & Storage Project Engineer to join its Energy Unit as part of the Grid and New Technologies team. The company has a combined portfolio of Wind, Solar and Energy Storage projects of a total capacity of 2,5GW with 200MW of BESS and windfarm projects currently under development/construction.

 

Scope of Position:

  • Supporting the construction RFP (request for proposal) process for BESS projects by creating comprehensive technical scope of work documents and by conducting technical evaluation of bids, including grid interconnection design details.
  • Continuously working with development, construction, project management and procurement of BESS projects for their optimization and LCOS (Levelized Cost of Storage) reduction.
  • Researching latest trends in storage technologies.
  • Supporting all the procedures (RFQ, RFP, proposals analysis, power market studies evaluation, market research etc) regarding the optimization of RES and BESS plants development.
  • Providing technical support regarding substation design, grid studies and engineering solutions for the connection of projects to the grid.
  • Supporting the regulatory and licensing process for utility-scale storage and other RES plants including grid interconnection.
  • Keeping up-to-date with the amendments of the Hellenic Electricity Grid Code and the regulatory framework relevant for the connection and operation of energy projects to the grid.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 2 years’ experience in the Renewable/BESS energy sector.
  • University Degree in Electrical Engineering or another relevant field. (Master’s Degree in Renewable Energy / Energy Storage Systems / Power Markets will be considered as a plus).
  • Familiarity with aspects of RES and/or BESS project development. Indicative: design, budgeting, power engineering studies, licensing processes and safety policies, construction, transportation of equipment, energy management.
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office and CAD/GIS Software. Power Engineering Software Package (e.g. PSS/E) or PVsyst will be considered as an asset.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills in Greek & English.
  • Driver’s License.
  • Ability to travel.
