Theon Group is looking for a FPGA Development and Verification Engineer

Role Summary

The FPGA team operates within a multi-disciplined group of Optical, Mechanical, Software, and Electrical Engineers. The candidate will closely collaborate with experts from all fields to develop advanced FPGA designs and be responsible for the automatic verification of the FPGA-SoC operation. This position is an excellent opportunity to participate in the development of advanced FPGA-SoC based embedded products and have an impact on the group and company growth.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the definition of the FPGA SoC architecture.
  • Develop code and verify core IP blocks for embedded vision algorithms.
  • Design the verification strategies for IP blocks and complete FPGA-SoC systems.
  • Develop testbenches, simulation blocks, and hardware in the loop designs for the automatic verification, and regression test of FPGA-SoCs.
  • Perform synthesis, place-route, and timing closure on FPGAs.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience developing at least one of Xilinx/Altera/Microsemi programmable devices along with timing closure skills.
  • Experience with RTL coding (VHDL preferred) and simulation tools (Mentor graphics preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with designing FPGA SoC with microcontrollers and embedded processors.
  • Experience with verification methodologies and verification environments.
  • Experience with lab tools like oscilloscopes for HW debugging and testing.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with version control systems like Git or SVN.
  • Experience with DevOps like processes for FPGA-SoC verification.
