Theon Sensors is seeking a highly motivated Shift Leader to join our team in Germany. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing daily operations, ensuring quality standards, and leading a team to achieve optimal performance. The Shift Leader will be responsible for the following:
Responsibilities:
- Provide direction and feedback to workers during shifts.
- Assign duties to employees.
- Manage time-off requests and handle last-minute absences.
- Train and coach new employees.
- Inspect equipment and communicate the need for repairs or replacements to management.
- Clean elements and parts using tissue, cleaning solutions, and air compressors.
- Insert and screw locking rings into housings to hold elements in place.
- Measure and mark dimensions and reference points and lay out stock for machining.
- Measure elements and instrument parts to verify dimensional specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Position and connect optical instruments to test devices, such as oscilloscopes and collimators.
- Perform testing and adjustment tasks.
Qualifications:
- AEI/ATEI Degree in a technical field will be considered as a plus.
- Proven experience as a Shift Leader or in a relevant role.
- Excellent knowledge of English.
- Good knowledge of the night vision goggles assembly process, especially of Mikron.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage and coordinate a team effectively.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies.
- Basic understanding of optical instruments and their testing.
- Knowledge of German will be considered as a strong plus.
