Role Summary

As the Plant Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire operations of our plant, ensuring the seamless execution of production processes and driving operational excellence. You will play a critical role in optimizing efficiency, managing resources, and maintaining quality standards to meet company objectives. This position requires a hands-on leader who can inspire teams, implement process improvements, and maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and delivery performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the plant, ensuring smooth production processes and compliance with company standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead and manage teams across production, maintenance, quality control, and logistics.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing processes and workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, supply chain, and R&D) to meet production goals.
  • Manage budgets, analyze operational performance, and prepare reports for senior management.
  • Build a culture of excellence, teamwork, and innovation across the plant.
  • Oversee Quality Control and Practices, as well as fostering a Quality Culture.

Qualifications

·        BEng in Engineering, Manufacturing. MBA diploma will be considered a plus.

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in plant or operations management, preferably in the electro-optical or defence industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process optimization methodologies.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken). Knowledge of French and/or Flemish/German will be considered a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment.
