Senior UX Designer (w/m/d) – AI Product Interfaces

Neo Psychiko, Attiki, Greece | Product Engineering

Sthenos AI is the AI developer of EFA Group, building intelligent, mission-ready solutions for defense and aerospace. With deep expertise in Command-and-Control (C2), cyber defense, computer vision, and autonomous systems, we design and deploy secure, field-proven AI that enhances operational efficiency and situational awareness. As part of a leading European defense ecosystem, we bring scalable innovation where it matters most — in the theater of operations.

As a Senior UX Designer (w/m/d) you will shape and deliver human-centric user experiences for our AI-powered products, turning complex model outputs into understandable, supportive, and calm interactions. You’ll focus on non-intrusive UX, high intuition, strong information “digestion” (making multi-signal data easy to interpret), and “shy technology” principles, where the system helps users succeed without demanding attention unnecessarily. You will collaborate closely with computer vision engineers, data scientists, ML engineers, and Site Reliability Engineers to ensure the product experience is trustworthy, usable, and operationally effective:

  • Design calm, non-intrusive experiences: reduce alert fatigue, avoid disruptive UI patterns, and implement progressive disclosure so information appears when it matters.

  • Make AI understandable: translate AI outputs (predictions, detections, confidence/uncertainty, summaries, anomalies) into UX that supports correct interpretation and appropriate trust.

  • Digest complex information into actionable UI: craft clear information hierarchies, dashboards, and flows that help users quickly scan, compare, and drill down across multiple signals (time, location, sensor feeds, events, cases, etc.).

  • Apply “shy technology”: design UIs that work quietly in the background - subtle cues, contextual assistance, gentle guidance, and frictionless workflows rather than constant user interruption.

  • Design for real operational contexts: map user journeys, edge cases, stress conditions, and time-critical decision moments; ensure UX remains robust under ambiguity and time pressure.

  • Lead the UX process end-to-end: from discovery over wireframes and high-fidelity designs to interactive prototypes without ignoring the user feedback loop (usability testing, iteration, handoff and design QA).

  • Partner deeply with pengineering: align interaction patterns with technical realities (latency, streaming inference, failure modes, partial results, caching, offline/limited connectivity).

  • Build and evolve a UI system: contribute to design tokens, components, patterns, and guidelines that scale across products and teams.

  • Embed inclusiveness: ensure accessibility-minded choices (contrast, focus states, keyboard navigation considerations), inclusive language, and support for a broad range of users.

  • Measure impact: define usability and product-quality signals (task success, time-to-decision, error rates, user confidence calibration) and use them to improve the experience.

Your skills

  • 2–5 years of professional experience in UX/Product Design (or equivalent), shipping real products end-to-end.

  • Strong craft in interaction design, information architecture, and visual hierarchy, especially for data-heavy or complex systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to design for clarity and trust in AI/automation contexts (e.g., explainability patterns, uncertainty display, human-in-the-loop controls).

  • Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (Figma and Banani strongly preferred) and strong prototyping skills.

  • Practical experience running lightweight user research: interviews, task analysis, usability tests, feedback synthesis.

  • Comfort collaborating with technical teams; ability to understand constraints and trade-offs without needing to be an engineer.

  • Solid knowledge of UX fundamentals: error prevention/recovery, progressive disclosure, cognitive load reduction, consistency and standards.

Nice to have

  • Experience with AI products, computer vision UIs, mapping/geospatial interfaces, operational dashboards, or decision-support tools.

  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG concepts), design systems, and component-based design.

  • Experience designing for “high-stakes” or “mission-critical” environments (public sector, security, healthcare, industrial, etc.).

Your competencies

  • Human-first thinking: you design for user confidence, comprehension, and calm—not just feature completeness.

  • Clarity under complexity: you turn messy, multi-signal information into intuitive workflows and readable screens.

  • Taste for non-intrusive UX: you instinctively avoid noisy interactions and build experiences that respect attention.

  • Systems mindset: you can design patterns and components that scale, not just one-off screens.

  • Collaborative attitude: you proactively partner with colleagues of different backgrounds in a top-notch cross-functional team to make the product coherent and reliable.

  • High ownership: you drive UX forward from ambiguity to decisions and shipped outcomes.
