The opportunity
The R&D department of the company sets as a strategic goal to increase know-how of the company in data platforms federation, data governance and analytics through its participation in relevant R&D projects. In this context, the company is looking for a DevOps engineer to join its growing R&D team. The selected candidate will be responsible for deploying innovative solutions and assisting the collaboration of multi-disciplinary development teams in European funded R&D projects.
The main responsibilities include:
- Setup and deploy CI/CD tools to support projects technical activities in collaboration with the company’s IT department
- Participate in technical management activities and facilitate collaboration of the development team
- Monitor and continuously improve the processes for DevOps operation
- Prepare documentation and guidebook for the deployment of the resulting software solutions
- Evaluate and select appropriate CI/CD tools depending on the specificities of each project
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary, international research teams and represent the company in relevant meetings
Required skills:
- University degree in Computer science, Computer Engineering or related field
- Knowledge of CI/CD methodologies and tools
- Experience with Linux-based infrastructures, Linux/Unix administration
- Scripting or programming skills for automated tasks (Unix shell, Python, groovy)
- Working experience with container deployment tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience in version control system (e.g. Git, GitLab)
- Experience in implementing CI/CD (e.g. Jenkins, TravisCI)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Fluency in English
Nice-to-have skills:
- Experience in messaging and streaming frameworks (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka)
- Experience in relational and No-SQL database design and management
- Familiarity with ETL data pipelines and data ingestion tools
