SCYTALYS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience in IT engineering, with in-depth knowledge of networking, VMware, WatchGuard firewall, Veeam, and other relevant technologies. This role will involve designing, implementing, and managing complex IT infrastructure to support our business operations.

(Responsibilities) About the role / What you can expect:

• Network Management:
  • Design, implement, and manage local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and other network segments.
  • Monitor network performance to ensure availability and reliability.
  • Configure and maintain network devices including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
• Virtualization (VMware):
  • Install, configure, and manage VMware environments.
  • Ensure the optimal performance of virtual machines and resources.
  • Perform regular maintenance and updates to the VMware infrastructure.
• Firewall and Security (WatchGuard):
  • Configure and manage WatchGuard firewalls to ensure network security.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents and breaches.
  • Implement security protocols and best practices to protect data and systems.
• Backup and Recovery (Veeam):
  • Implement and manage Veeam backup solutions to ensure data protection.
  • Perform regular backup tests and disaster recovery drills.
  • Maintain documentation for backup and recovery procedures.
• Systems Administration:
  • Manage Windows and Linux servers, ensuring high levels of availability and security.
  • Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues in a timely manner.
• Technical Support:
  • Provide advanced technical support to internal teams and clients.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Mentor and guide junior IT staff, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
• Project Management:
  • Lead and participate in IT projects, from planning and execution to completion.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
  • Maintain project documentation and report progress to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT engineering or a similar role.
• Strong expertise in networking (Cisco, Juniper, etc.), VMware, WatchGuard firewall, and Veeam.
• Proficient in Windows and Linux server administration.
• Solid understanding of IT security principles and practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) is a plus.
• Relevant certifications (CCNA, VCP, WatchGuard, Veeam) are highly desirable.
