POSITION SUMMARY:
Design Manager/Coordinator has the overall coordination of all the engineering disciplines (Geotechnical, Structural, Architectural, Electro-Mechanical etc.), as well as the communication with the subcontractors and stakeholders of the project. He/she reports directly to the Project Manager and the top management of the project.
POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage flow of design information and ensures that the design submittals following the deadlines by the contract/client
- Manage and coordinate all the design submittals from the Engineering team and regarding all Engineering disciplines
- Manage design input of specialist subcontractors.
- Control of information flow.
- Produces weekly design reports.
- Monitor release of design information against agreed programme.
- Management of design process during construction process and planning as applicable.
- Manage design interface between packages.
- Organize, chair and record the various meetings during the process.
- Procure design information in a timely manner to the required quality and maintain drawing registers.
- Provide technical advice and information as necessary, including that required during the tendering or bidding process.
- Review design and specifications for alternatives to provide added value.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
BSc in Engineering.
Fluency in English language both written and spoken
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Min 10 years experience in Engineering and at least 3 years in managerial position
Knowledge of engineering aspects of major civil and infrastructure projects
Excellent report writing and communication skills
Interpersonal and communication skills

· Experienced user of MS Office
· Engineering software, Autocad, Civil 3D, etc.
