The Finance Director (CFO) is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, reporting directly to the CEO and partnering closely with senior management to shape the Company's financial strategy, support sustainable business growth, and safeguard its financial performance and long-term stability.

As a trusted business partner, the Finance Director provides strategic financial leadership while overseeing all aspects of the finance function, including financial control, commercial finance, financial governance and treasury.

Τhe successful candidate will combine strategic vision with strong financial & commercial acumen and a pragmatic, hands-on leadership style. In addition to contributing to an executive level, the Finance Director is expected to remain actively engaged in the day-to-day financial and accounting operations, ensuring the consistent execution of high-quality financial processes and controls.

What your day-to-day looks like:

·        Oversee the Company’s controlling for profitability and costs, ensuring clear insight into key drivers, cost structures, variances, and risks, while driving timely actions to improve margins.

·        Lead the annual budgeting process, forecasting, business planning, and financial performance reviews, providing actionable insights and recommendations to improve profitability and operational performance.

·        Develop and enhance the Company's performance management framework by establishing KPIs, management reporting, and profitability analysis, providing visibility on value creation, profitability drivers, and areas of improvement across customers, channels, brands, products, and operations.

·        Partner with Sales, Commercial, and Operations teams to drive commercial performance and profitability, focusing on product mix optimization, customer and channel profitability, trade investments, discount effectiveness, and margin management, while ensuring strong financial governance and sustainable, profitable growth.

·        Provide financial governance over commercial agreements, customer and supplier contracts, assessing financial and commercial risks, supporting negotiations, and ensuring contractual terms protect the Company's interests.

·        Lead treasury activities, including cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, working capital optimization, payment planning, and management of banking relationships and financing arrangements.

·        Ensure optimal funding and capital allocation by overseeing financing facilities, CAPEX planning, investment evaluation, monitoring of investment execution, and compliance with financing agreements and banking covenants.

·        Contribute to the Company's strategic direction, investment decisions, and long-term growth plans, acting as a trusted financial advisor to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team.

·        Lead and develop the Accounting and Credit Control functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, reliable accounting processes, disciplined receivables management, and effective internal controls.

·        Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and accounting requirements while managing relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and legal partners where required.

·        Partner with the COO and business functions to drive cost management, including OPEX budgeting, cost control, efficiency initiatives, performance monitoring, and corrective actions when results deviate from plan.

·        Drive continuous improvement, simplification, and digitalization of finance processes and systems, ensuring the Finance function evolves with the Company's growth.

·        Lead, coach, and develop the Finance team (Accounting and Credit Control), fostering accountability, collaboration, business partnership, and a culture of continuous improvement.

What you need:

·        Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent) and/or MBA is considered an advantage.

·        10+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 2-3 years of experience in senior finance leadership roles.

·        Experience in commercially driven industries such as FMCG, distribution, manufacturing, retail, wholesale, logistics, or similar environments, with strong expertise in financial controlling, commercial finance, margin and profitability management, cost control, and working capital management.

·        Strong background in financial management, accounting, controlling, treasury, banking, corporate finance, and working capital optimization.

·        Proven experience partnering with commercial teams, profitability management, trade investments, margin optimization, and financial evaluation of commercial decisions.

·        Proven experience managing banking relationships, external auditors and financing partners.

·        Demonstrated experience in developing KPIs, management reporting, performance analysis, and translating financial insights into actionable business recommendations.

·        Experience leading and developing finance teams and driving process improvements, automation, and operational efficiency.

·        Strategic and commercially minded finance leader with the ability to act as a trusted partner to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team.

·        Strong business partnering skills, able to collaborate effectively with Sales, Operations, and cross-functional teams.

·        Hands-on leadership approach, comfortable balancing strategic responsibilities with operational involvement.

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate financial insights into business actions.

·        High integrity, ownership mindset, and strong professional judgement.

·        Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial topics in a clear and actionable way.
