About the role

At OTE Group, we are at the forefront of leveraging advanced data engineering to drive transformative change. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing data solutions that fuel our business growth.

Duties & responsibilities

• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with business stakeholders, data scientists, and fellow engineers to understand intricate business requirements and develop scalable, efficient data solutions
• Drive Innovation in Data Discovery: Explore and integrate new data sources, leveraging your expertise to engineer innovative data solutions that provide strategic advantages
• Architect and Optimize Data Models: Design and implement robust, scalable data models that support evolving business needs and best practices in data architecture
• Build and Enhance Data Pipelines: Lead the development and optimization of data integration and transformation pipelines using the latest technologies and methodologies
• Ensure Data Quality and Compliance: Champion high standards for data quality, documentation, and security, ensuring the reliability and integrity of our data assets
• Provide Project Leadership: While not a people management role, this position involves guiding project teams, coordinating tasks, and ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines
• Uphold Best Practices in Data Governance: Implement and advocate for best practices in data privacy, security, and governance across all data engineering activities

Required Skills

• Extensive Data Engineering Experience: Proven experience, at least 5 years, in building and managing sophisticated data solutions, with strong expertise in data architecture, ETL processes, and big data technologies ideally in Telco or banking industry
• Project Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and coordinate project teams, manage stakeholders, and drive projects to successful completion in a collaborative environment
• Advanced Problem-Solving Abilities: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a history of addressing complex data challenges and delivering innovative solutions
• Technical Proficiency: Deep knowledge of data engineering technologies including ETL, SQL, Python, cloud platforms (Snowflake, Azure, GCP), and CI/CD pipelines
• Expertise in Modern Data Tools: Proficiency in technologies such as Snowflake, Kafka, Spark, Airflow and DBT, and data modeling frameworks like Data Vault and Dimensional Modeling
• Strategic and Forward-Thinking: A strategic mindset with a passion for staying ahead of emerging trends such as real-time data processing, cloud-native architectures, and DevOps practices
• Educational Background: A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience in a senior data engineering capacity is highly valued
