The Onassis Shipping legend lives on…

Aristotle S. Onassis initially installed his shipping enterprise in New York while in 1952 he established Olympic Maritime in Paris in order to manage his shipping assets from Europe. In 1953, Olympic transferred its offices in Monte Carlo where it remained until 1997. In 1990, Olympic Maritime was renamed Olympic Shipping and Management S.A.  Since 1997 it has its main branch in P. Phaleron, Athens, Greece from where it acts as principal agent of the fleet. Currently the fleet comprises of 18 crude oil tankers and the technical management has been assigned to Springfield Shipping Co. Panama S.A.

Olympic’s greatest strength is the people onboard the fleet as well as those who work ashore. Our efforts will always be towards the improvement of our quality systems by providing seafarers and office staff through continuous training the necessary skills and support in order to perform their duties safely, efficiently and effectively. Our seafarers are the oxygen of our business and the most valued part of our team as it is them that operate the ships every day. Their safety and wellbeing is our main priority.

There is great collaboration between officers on board and shore personnel. We take pride in assembling together a great team of senior level experts and the most promising, young professionals in order to create a management structure that combines the experience with passion and the need for continuous improvement. We constantly invest in our human capital, by offering them the environment and the opportunities to release their potential and evolve professionally and personally.
