Shipping Coordinator – Dangerous Goods

Job Description:

• Assisting in monitoring ongoing orders

• Coordinating shipping procedures, including handling dangerous goods

• Selecting the best and most cost-effective method of shipping, by taking into consideration weights, sizes, values, quality standards, and compliance with dangerous goods regulations

• Ensuring orders are shipped on time to meet expected delivery dates

• Preparing all necessary documentation for the efficient and lawful execution of export activities, ensuring shipping costs are calculated accurately and passed onto customers

• Effectively managing the shipping of products, spare parts, and dangerous goods in and out of the country, in compliance with the relevant local and international laws

• Constantly communicating with Warehouse & Production departments to ensure on-time stock availability

• Archiving shipping documents in accordance with organizational policy and in compliance with the relevant local laws

• Being involved in the export and import process (with customs, courier companies, returns), particularly with a focus on dangerous goods regulations

 

Skills & experience:

• BSc level of education is a must, ideally in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar position, preferably with exposure to handling dangerous goods

• Knowledge of the English language; knowledge of German will be considered an asset

• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and Internet applications. Desirable knowledge of SAP

• Strong numerical and analytical skills

• Problem-solving skills and ability to find alternative solutions
