About the Role
The Senior BI Business Analyst is part of the IT / Business Intelligence team and owns BI & data initiatives delivered mainly by external vendors. The role ensures accurate business requirements, KPI consistency, technical alignment, data quality, and final acceptance of BI deliverables, acting as the key link between business, IT/BI, and vendors while mentoring mid-level analysts.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead business requirements gathering and validation (wholesale & retail).
• Define, standardize, and govern KPIs, metrics, and business rules.
• Approve functional and technical specifications and perform UAT sign-off.
• Own BI/reporting roadmap alignment with business priorities and IT capabilities.
• Coordinate and oversee external vendors delivering BI, EDW, ETL, and reporting solutions.
• Ensure compliance with BI architecture, data models, standards, and naming conventions.
• Oversee EDW using medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) and semantic layers.
• Supervise ETL/ELT logic, data lineage, transformations, and data quality controls.
• Perform advanced SQL Server validations, reconciliations, and root cause analysis.
• Review semantic models, validate DAX calculations, KPI definitions, security models, and reporting standards in Power BI
• Establish acceptance criteria, manage change requests, risks, and delivery quality.
• Mentor mid-level BI analysts and strengthen internal BI ownership and documentation.

What We’re Looking For

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, Economics, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst / BI Analyst in IT/BI environments.
• Proven ownership role in vendor-driven BI or data projects.
• Experience in wholesale and/or retail environments.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of EDW architectures and data modeling concepts.
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data quality practices.
• Advanced SQL Server skills for validation and troubleshooting.
• Very good knowledge of Power BI, tabular modeling, and KPI validation (DAX).

Leadership & Soft Skills

• Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills.
• Ability to define clear specifications, acceptance criteria, and quality controls.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with business and technical teams.
• Strong focus on data quality, KPI consistency, and delivery excellence.
