INTERSPORT Athletics S.A., member of FOURLIS Group and exclusive franchisee of INTERSPORT in Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Romania, is looking for a highly analytical and business-oriented Financial Controller to join our Finance team and oversee the financial operations of our international entities and subsidiaries.
This role is ideal for a finance professional with up to 5 years of experience who is passionate about financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and business partnering in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The successful candidate will support financial planning processes, provide valuable business insights, and contribute to the optimization of financial reporting and controlling activities.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the monthly closing process, ensuring accuracy and timely financial reporting
- Proactively monitoring variances between actuals and budget on a monthly basis, ensuring the correct classification of accounts and cost centers, identifying trends, and recommending corrective actions where needed
- Preparing and monitoring budgets, forecasts, and financial performance reports
- Analyzing P&L statements and financial data to identify trends, risks, and business opportunities
- Partnering with internal stakeholders to provide financial insights and support informed business decision-making
- Assisting in the preparation of management reports and presentations for senior leadership
- Contributing to the improvement and automation of financial and reporting processes
- Developing and maintaining financial models and dashboards to support strategic initiatives and performance tracking
- Ensuring compliance with internal policies, financial controls, and reporting standards
Knowledge & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Up to 5 years of relevant experience in Controlling, Financial Analysis, or Finance roles, preferably within the retail or commercial sector
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (SAP will be considered an asset)
- Experience with Power BI or other reporting/visualization tools will be considered a plus
- Good understanding of financial reporting and budgeting principles
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a business partnering mindset
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
