Finance Analyst - Controller

FOURNARAKIS S.A. is seeking an experienced Finance Analyst - Controller to strengthen its Finance function and support the company’s continued growth and development.

The role is designed for finance professional with strong analytical and controlling capabilities and solid experience in a large commercial or product-driven organization, ideally operating with a significant number of SKUs, brands, suppliers, imports, warehouses and sales channels.

The successful candidate will work closely with the CFO and Management, providing reliable financial and commercial analysis, developing management reporting and contributing to the continuous improvement of controlling processes, systems and reporting tools.

A strong understanding of physical products and the financial dynamics behind inventory, purchasing, imports, costing, margins and product profitability is essential for the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyse and present financial performance, variances and key performance indicators.
• Prepare monthly management reports for the CFO and Management, including analysis of trends, variances, margins, profitability and areas requiring management attention.
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting and business planning processes.
• Analyse sales, gross margin, profitability, costs and commercial performance by product, SKU, category, brand, channel and market.
• Perform detailed analysis across large product portfolios and identify key profitability and performance drivers.
• Monitor and analyse inventory levels, stock ageing, stock turnover, slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
• Analyse purchasing, imports and product-related costs, including landed cost and other factors affecting product profitability.
• Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing processes, in collaboration with Accounting and the CFO.
• Review the accuracy and consistency of accounting entries, reconciliations and financial information generated through the ERP system.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and other financial reporting requirements.
• Monitor and support key reconciliations, including customers, suppliers, inventory, banks and general ledger accounts.
• Support statutory, tax and other external audits in cooperation with Accounting and external advisors.
• Support matters related to myDATA, electronic invoicing and Greek tax compliance, in collaboration with the Accounting team.
• Prepare business cases, scenario analyses and ad hoc financial analyses to support management decision-making.
• Develop, monitor and continuously improve financial and commercial KPIs.
• Design and enhance management dashboards and reporting tools.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Procurement, Product Management, Logistics, Warehouse and Accounting to collect, validate and interpret financial and operational data.
• Identify and explain the underlying business drivers behind financial and commercial performance.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of financial and commercial controlling processes and internal controls.
• Drive the automation of reports and recurring analyses, reducing manual processes and improving the speed and reliability of financial information.
• Support the adoption of modern technologies, Business Intelligence tools and data-driven reporting solutions.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
• 7–10 years of relevant professional experience in Financial Analysis, Finance Controlling, Accounting Controlling, Commercial Controlling, FP&A or a similar role.
• Proven experience in a large commercial, distribution, wholesale, retail or product-based company.
• Experience working in an environment with a significant number of products / SKUs, brands, suppliers and sales channels.
• Strong knowledge of management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Strong understanding of P&L, margins, costing, inventory and profitability analysis.
• Very good understanding of accounting processes, financial closings, reconciliations and financial statements.
• Good understanding of Greek accounting and tax requirements, including myDATA and electronic invoicing.
• Strong experience with ERP systems, ideally EntersoftOne.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with reporting tools and/or Business Intelligence dashboards.
• Ability to work effectively with large and complex datasets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Ability to translate financial and operational data into clear business insights and management recommendations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams.
• Very good command of the English language.
