General Ledger Accountant
The Position:
We are looking for a General Ledger Accountant to join our Group Finance team in Kifissia. The main objective of the role is to ensure the accurate recording of financial transactions, support the monthly and annual closing processes, and maintain compliance with accounting standards and Group policies. The role will work closely with Finance teams across the Group to ensure consistency, accuracy, and timely financial reporting.
Reporting to the Finance Shared Services Manager you will be responsible and accountable to:
•Perform General Ledger accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and Group policies
•Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, provisions, and other month-end adjustments
•Reconcile General Ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies
•Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, ensuring deadlines are met
•Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and monitor outstanding items
•Support the preparation of statutory and management financial reports
•Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, Tax, and Business Finance teams to ensure accurate financial information
•Participate in the preparation of audit schedules and support internal and external audit processes
•Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements
•Contribute to the standardization and continuous improvement of accounting processes across the Group
•Support ERP enhancements, finance transformation initiatives, and process automation projects
Qualifications & Competencies required:
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
•At least 6 years of experience in in General Ledger Accounting or Financial Accounting
•Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
•Experience in a multinational or multi-company environment will be considered an advantage
•Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred)
•Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
•Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
•Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
•Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and meet tight deadlines
•Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Qualifications considered as an asset:
•Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, SOEL or equivalent)
•Experience in retail or other complex, high-volume business environments
•Experience participating in finance transformation or ERP implementation projects
