Support Operations & Commerce with Strong Financial Insight – Join FOODLINK as a Cost Accountant

FOODLINK S.A., a member of the FDL Group and a leader in 3rd Party Logistics and Commercial Distribution, is seeking a motivated and analytical Cost Accountant to join our Finance team in Aspropyrgos, Attica.

This mid-level role combines cost accounting and financial analysis across both logistics services and commercial activity (trading, resale, and distribution). You’ll work closely with operations, procurement, and sales teams to ensure accurate costing, margin tracking, and financial transparency across the business.
 

Key Responsibilities

Cost & Operational Analysis

• Monitor and analyze direct and indirect costs related to warehouse operations, transportation, and logistics services
• Allocate costs to appropriate cost centers and services for accurate profitability tracking
• Perform variance analysis (actual vs. forecast/budget) and report deviations to management
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, focusing on cost-related entries and reconciliations
• Reconcile inventory movements, adjustments, and related costs with the warehouse and accounting teams

Commercial Activity Analysis

• Analyze product costs, purchase prices, and cost of goods sold (COGS) for trading and distribution activities
• Maintain standard cost models and evaluate gross profit margins by product, customer, and channel
• Collaborate with the Commercial and Procurement teams to monitor price fluctuations and their impact on margin
• Assist in the preparation of pricing strategies, sales offers, and financial evaluations of commercial deals
• Track freight, import duties, and other landed costs for commercial inventory and ensure proper allocation

Reporting & Collaboration

• Prepare key financial and performance reports, including:
  • Cost and margin analysis reports
  • Product and customer profitability statements
  • Inventory valuation and reconciliation reports
• Support budgeting and forecasting related to both logistics and commercial activities
• Provide documentation and analytical support for internal and external audits
• Contribute to ongoing improvements in cost reporting, internal controls, and financial systems

Candidate Profile – Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or CMA certification is a plus)
• 3–5 years of experience in cost accounting or financial analysis, ideally in a company with both operational and trading activities
• Knowledge of inventory accounting, cost of goods sold, and margin analysis
• Solid understanding of logistics, warehousing, and supply chain cost structures
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to communicate financial insights clearly
• Fluent in Greek and proficient in English
