Role Overview

Ethniki Asfalistiki is seeking for a Senior SAP Developer who will be responsible for supporting and evolving our core policy administration platform, msg.PIA on SAP, as part of a major strategic transformation.

The successful candidate will work closely with our integration partner during a critical phase of the program, contributing to the development, maintenance, and long-term ownership of the platform. The job holder will be part of a growing internal team of experts, with the opportunity to progressively take on greater responsibility as system knowledge is brought in-house, and to develop into a senior ownership role as the team expands.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Configure, develop, and maintain insurance products and workflows within msg.PIA
  • Work alongside the Vendor’s consultants to absorb knowledge and build internal expertise
  • Support the ongoing migration of legacy P&C LOBs onto the new platform
  • Develop integrations between msg.PIA and surrounding systems (billing, claims, reporting, SAP ECC, Enterprise Data Warehouse, our custom Agency Management System and others.
  • Participate in quality assurance, testing, and production deployments lifecycle (CI/CD)
  • Contribute to documentation and internal capability building
  • Gradually take ownership of day-to-day system maintenance as the internal team matures
  • Gradually take ownership of change requests & new product development as the internal team mature

 

 

Candidate Job Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or any related field
  • Strong SAP development background (ABAP, configuration, or related) with 5+ years of hands-on ABAP experience, including large-scale implementations or upgrades
  • Experience supporting production systems across multiple modules, with strong debugging and performance optimization skills
  • Hands-on experience with msg.PIA or similar P&C policy administration platforms, and involvement in core insurance system implementations or migrations
  • Solid understanding of P&C insurance processes (Motor, Property, Liability) across commercial and retail lines
  • Ability to work effectively in complex program environments with external partners, combining autonomy with collaboration alongside functional analysts
  • Strong problem-solving skills, excellent documentation practices
  • Fluency in Greek with working proficiency in English
  • No pending military obligations (for Greek male citizens)

 

Will be considered a plus:

  • Prior experience at an insurer, reinsurer, or insurance software vendor
  • Exposure to legacy system migration or parallel-run environments
  • Familiarity with integration middleware or API-based system connectivity
  • SAP Certified Development Associate — Business Process Integration with SAP S/4HANA (C_TS410 or relevant associate cert) and or ABAP development certifications.
  • SAP S/4HANA development certification
