Role Overview

Ethniki Asfalistiki is looking for a Casualty Underwriter Expert who will be responsible for the assessment, underwriting, and acceptance of Casualty (Liability) and related special risks, in accordance with the Company’s underwriting policies, guidelines, and delegated authorities. The role is performed within assigned authority limits, ensuring alignment with Management decisions and Company policies.

Main Responsibilities

• Assesses, underwrites, and accepts Casualty (Liability) risks including D&O, PI’s, Cyber, within assigned authority limits, in line with underwriting policies, strategic objectives, and Management directives.
• Supports the Company’s strategic underwriting approach by ensuring portfolio quality, risk adequacy, and sustainable profitability.
• Monitors and analyses portfolio performance indicators, including premiums, loss ratios, and cancellation rates, and proposes corrective or enhancement actions where appropriate.
• Contributes to the development and refinement of underwriting parameters, pricing assumptions, and risk acceptance criteria, in cooperation with Product and Actuarial functions.
• Provides technical support and expertise to Sales and other Divisions on risk assessment, pricing adequacy, and Tender participation, without assuming operational g responsibilities.
• Proposes special terms, conditions, coverage structures, and reinsurance placements, in accordance with established governance, delegated authorities, and approval frameworks.
• Acts as a technical reference point within the Unit, supporting training, mentoring, and knowledge sharing, and ensuring consistent application of underwriting standards and practices and operates under the supervision of the manager, in compliance with Company policies and guidelines

Candidate Job Profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in statistics, economics, business administration, or a related field.
• 6-10 years’ experience in a similar role
• Diploma from an insurance organization (e.g. Hellenic Insurance Institute)
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in Greek.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Very Good knowledge in English will be considered an asset
• No pending military obligations (for Greek male citizens)
