IT Business Analyst / Product Owner

Πικέρμι, Ανατολική Αττική, Ελλάδα | BAPK · IT Systems Administrator

The Role:

The Bridge Between Business Ambition and Digital Reality

As our Business Analyst / Product Owner, you will be the critical link between our business departments (Commercial, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance) and our technology delivery teams. You are not just a documenter of requirements; you are a strategic partner who understands business challenges, identifies opportunities for digital solutions, and owns the delivery of value from concept to adoption. You will ensure that the systems we implement don't just work, but deliver tangible business outcomes.

Your Core Expertise:

Analysis & Product Ownership
This is your craft. You have deep, demonstrable skills in:

  • Requirements Elicitation & Analysis: Expertly interviewing stakeholders, running workshops, and translating complex business needs into clear, unambiguous requirements.
  • Process Mapping & Optimization: Visualizing current-state processes (As-Is), identifying pain points, and co-designing efficient future-state processes (To-Be) enabled by technology.
  • Product Backlog Management: Creating, maintaining, and prioritizing a backlog of work (user stories, features, bugs) for key business systems (e.g., CRM, ERP, LIMS).
  • User Story Creation & Prioritization: Authoring effective user stories with clear acceptance criteria and making data-informed decisions on what to build next based on business value.
  • Stakeholder Validation: Ensuring continuous feedback loops with the business through demos, and leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to confirm solutions meet the need.

Your Broad Capabilities

The Connector
This is what makes you a true collaborator and enabler. You have a passion for and understanding of:

·        Synthesis & Systems Thinking: You instinctively seek to understand the whole before dissecting the parts. You ask "Why?" before "What?". You can map the interdependencies between departments.

  • Business Acumen: Understanding the core drivers of a pharmaceutical business—from commercial sales cycles and supply chain logistics to quality assurance and regulatory affairs.
  • Technical Literacy: You don't need to code, but you can speak the language of IT. You understand basic concepts of cloud computing (SaaS/PaaS), databases, APIs, and system integrations.
  • Data Fluency: You see the value in data. You can articulate business needs for reporting and analytics and are comfortable working with BI tools (like Power BI or Tableau) to analyze outcomes.
  • Compliance Awareness: You understand why regulations matter in pharma. You have an appreciation for GxP, Computer System Validation (CSV), and data integrity principles.
  • Lightweight Project Coordination: You are adept at managing the end-to-end delivery of smaller initiatives within your domain, including tracking progress, identifying risks, and ensuring clear communication with all stakeholders.
  • Application Lifecycle Awareness: You understand that applications have a lifecycle beyond a single project. You consider the long-term health, supportability, and technical debt associated with the requirements you define.
  • Change Management & Communication: You are an excellent communicator, trainer, and champion for change, helping drive user adoption and excitement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Discovery & Analysis:
    • Collaborate with business leaders to understand the purpose and function of their department within the larger corporate system.
    • Lead the analysis of business problems by first modeling the system of work, identifying key interactions, dependencies, and feedback loops.
    • Champion a holistic view during solution selection, ensuring we choose tools that integrate effectively and don't create new silos.
    • Document business requirements, functional specifications, and process flows.
  • Product Ownership & Delivery:
    • Act as the Product Owner for key business systems, managing a roadmap that is explicitly designed to improve systemic outcomes (e.g., "reduce order-to-cash cycle time" rather than just "add a field to the ERP").

o   For initiatives originating from your backlog, you will coordinate the delivery timeline, manage risks, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.

    • Work hand-in-hand with application specialists, data engineers, and support teams to guide the implementation, configuration, and continuous improvement of these systems, ensuring they understand the business context and the interdependencies related to the features they are building.
    • Define success metrics for projects and initiatives, and track their impact post-launch.

o   Proactively identify and flag potential "sub-optimization," where improving one part of the system could negatively impact another.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management:
    • Serve as the primary, trusted liaison between business stakeholders and the IT team.
    • Lead sessions for User Acceptance Testing (UAT), gather feedback, and manage the defect resolution process.
    • Develop training and communication that focuses on new ways of working enabled by technology, not just new software features.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, Systems Analyst, or similar role.
  • Proven experience working on the implementation and support of business applications (COTS), particularly ERP, CRM, LIMS, or WMS.

·        Demonstrated ability in systems thinking—the capacity to see the big picture, understand interdependencies, and solve problems holistically.

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical teams and senior business leaders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a talent for process optimization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Fluency in both Greek and English (written and verbal).

Preferred:

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or another regulated GxP industry is a significant advantage.
  • Professional certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP) or Product Ownership (e.g., CSPO, PSPO).
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Familiarity with Computer System Validation (CSV) principles.
