IT BI & Data Analyst

Πικέρμι, Ανατολική Αττική, Ελλάδα | BIDAPK · IT Systems Administrator

The Role

The Storyteller Who Translates Data into Business Action

As our BI & Data Analyst, you are the crucial final link in our data value chain. You take the structured, integrated data from our new data warehouse and breathe life into it. You are a master synthesizer who doesn't just present numbers; you weave them into compelling narratives that explain what's happening, why it's happening, and what we should do next.

Your mission is to empower our business leaders—from Sales and Marketing to Supply Chain and Quality—with clear, actionable insights through world-class dashboards and deep-dive analyses. As you master our business data, this role will naturally evolve, providing opportunities to explore predictive analytics and data science to answer our most challenging future questions.

Your Core Expertise:

The Craft of Analysis & Visualization
This is your deep domain. You are a hands-on analyst with demonstrable mastery in:

  • Business Intelligence (BI) Development: Expert-level proficiency in a modern BI platform (especially Power BI, Tableau or Qlik are also relevant). You can build intuitive, performant, and insightful dashboards from scratch.
  • Data Storytelling & Visualization: A gift for choosing the right visualization for the right question and organizing them into a narrative that leads users to a clear conclusion.
  • Analytical SQL: Strong proficiency in SQL to directly query the data warehouse, join complex datasets, perform data validation, and prepare data for analysis.
  • Requirements Translation: The ability to work closely with business stakeholders to understand their ambiguous questions and translate them into concrete data requirements and KPIs.

Your Broad Capabilities:

The Strategic Thinker & Future Scientist
This is what elevates you from a report builder to a strategic partner:

  • Synthesis & Business Acumen: You are relentlessly curious about our business. You seek to understand the pharmaceutical value chain and how different departments interact. You synthesize this business context with data to deliver insights that are relevant and impactful, not just statistically interesting.
  • Statistical Foundation: You have a solid grasp of core statistical concepts (e.g., mean/median/mode, distributions, correlation vs. causation, statistical significance). This is the foundation for trustworthy analysis and your future growth.
  • Data Evangelism & Communication: You are a clear, confident communicator who can present findings to senior leadership. You are passionate about fostering a data-driven culture and enjoy training business users to self-serve.
  • A-Path-To-Data-Science Mindset: You have a foundational understanding of, or a strong desire to learn, more advanced techniques. This includes:
    • Programming: Basic to intermediate skills in Python or R for data analysis (using libraries like Pandas, NumPy).
    • Machine Learning Concepts: Familiarity with the concepts of regression, classification, and clustering. You understand what kinds of problems ML can solve, even if you are not yet an expert modeler.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop & Own BI Solutions:
    • Design, build, deploy, and maintain our core suite of Power BI dashboards for all major business functions.
    • Own the full BI development lifecycle, from connecting to data sources and data modeling within Power BI to report creation and distribution.
  • Deliver Actionable Insights:
    • Perform deep-dive, ad-hoc analyses to answer critical, time-sensitive questions from business leadership.
    • Go beyond reporting: proactively identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities within the data and present your findings and recommendations.
  • Partner & Evangelize:
    • Work as a strategic partner to business units, helping them define KPIs and metrics that truly measure the health of their operations.
    • Champion the use of data and analytics across the company, providing training and support to foster a culture of data-driven decision-making.
  • Explore the Future:
    • As our data maturity grows, you will be given opportunities to work on more advanced projects, such as sales forecasting, customer segmentation, or supply chain optimization using statistical and machine learning techniques.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience in a Business Intelligence or Data Analyst role.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Power BI, including DAX and data modeling.
  • Strong SQL skills for querying and data manipulation.
  • Proven ability to translate business questions into analytical insights and compelling data stories.
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, or another quantitative field.
  • Fluency in both Greek and English.

Preferred (Highly Desirable):

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, or a related industry.
  • Experience with a programming language for data analysis (Python or R).
  • Solid understanding of statistical analysis and modeling techniques.
  • Familiarity with cloud data warehouse environments (e.g., Databricks).
  • Experience presenting to and communicating with senior management.
