Role Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced System Architect & Engineering Leader to define and lead the development of complex defense systems and system-of-systems solutions.This role combines end-to-end system architecture ownership with strong engineering leadership, ensuring the translation of operational needs into scalable, robust, and production-ready systems. The candidate will act as a technical authority, driving architectural decisions while contributing to overall technology strategy.

Key Responsibilities

System Architecture

• Define and own end-to-end system architecture across platform-level and system-of-systems solutions.
• Translate operational and mission needs into clear, structured technical requirements.
• Drive architectural trade-offs, performance allocation, and interface definitions.
• Ensure scalability, modularity, and long-term evolution of system designs.

Engineering Leadership

• Build, structure, and lead a multidisciplinary engineering team (systems, embedded, RF, AI).
• Own hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
• Establish engineering processes, culture, and best practices.
• Align team execution with strategic and program objectives.

Technical Execution

• Stay hands-on in critical technical areas, including:
  • System integration
  • Architecture validation
  • Key technical decision-making
• Oversee full development lifecycle: concept → design → prototype → production.
• Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of engineering outputs.

Systems Engineering & Methodology

• Implement and enforce Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices.
• Maintain full traceability from requirements to validation.
• Define system models, interfaces, and verification strategies.
• Standardize engineering workflows and documentation.

Compliance & Integration

• Ensure alignment with relevant defense standards and certification processes.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities across engineering, product, and production teams.
• Support system validation in operational and real-world environments.

Required Skills

Core Experience

• >8 years in systems engineering or system architecture.
• Proven experience in complex system or system-of-systems design.
• Background in defense, aerospace, or similarly demanding engineering domains.

Technical Depth

• Strong understanding of:
  • Embedded systems.
  • Sensing or RF-based systems (e.g., radar).
  • Integration of advanced algorithms (e.g., AI/ML) into real-world systems.

Leadership

• Experience leading engineering teams (minimum 3–5 engineers).
• Proven ability to scale teams and drive execution.
• Strong decision-making and ownership mindset.

Standards & Processes

• Familiarity with defense-related standards and certification environments.
• Experience working within structured engineering and validation frameworks.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with counter-drone or air-defense-related systems.
• Background in signal processing or sensor fusion.
• Experience with edge AI systems.
• Prior involvement in classified or high-security projects
• Exposure to deployed/operational system integration
