EFA Group is currently looking for a skilled Business Development Manager, passionate about their field of work. As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and developing business opportunities, building strong customer relationships, and driving successful contract closures across the defense, aerospace and security sectors. The role is based in Athens, Greece.
Role Expectations
- Lead business development and account management efforts in the assigned markets.
- Identify new business opportunities and establish strong relationships with key stakeholders.

- Represent the company at trade shows and industry events.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored solutions for clients.
- Follow up on leads and opportunities through the full sales cycle.
Brand Representation & Market Presence
- Actively drive brand awareness of EFA Group’s products and solutions across the assigned region.
- Position the company as a trusted partner in defense, security and aerospace high-tech environments, aligned with customer needs.
- Conduct market research to identify new markets, customer needs and emerging product and technology trends.
Client, Partner & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with government entities, armed forces, public agencies and key decision-makers.
- Develop and manage partnerships with local system integrators, prime contractors and technology partners to support market entry.
- Serve as the primary commercial interface for assigned accounts, ensuring consistency and long-term relationship building.
Opportunity Management & Deal Execution
- Generate, qualify and develop domestic and international business opportunities aligned with company objectives.
- Own opportunity qualification, pipeline development, forecasting and prioritization.
- Lead and support negotiations and deal closures, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
- Track and report KPIs such as revenue growth, pipeline health, market share and profitability (ROI and KPIs).
Bid, Commercial & Internal Coordination
- Lead and contribute to proposal preparation and RFI/RFP/RFQ/tender processes, as part of an integrated Bid & Proposal team and in collaboration with the Technical Business Development department.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (marketing, engineering, legal, finance, program management) to address client requirements effectively.
- Liaise with contracts and legal departments to review and align agreements; ensure compliance with procurement regulations, export controls and internal governance (incl. ABMS policies).
Representation & Networking
- Represent the company at exhibitions, defense events and industry forums.
- Strengthen the company’s visibility and strategic positioning across the region.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and client interactions (CRM).
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Language Requirements
- University degree with a focus on Engineering or Information and Communications Technology; a Master’s degree or MBA is an asset.
- Proven track record in delivering successful business outcomes and meeting sales quotas in the international marketplace, preferably in projects with high technological content.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in business development/sales, including at least 2 years in a managerial or team-leadership capacity.
- Experience and knowledge of the Defense sector (considered mandatory); familiarity with automation, autonomy or unmanned systems is a plus.
- Strong understanding of commercial contracts, tender processes and procurement frameworks.
- Knowledge of CRM systems and project-management platforms such as Monday.com or Asana (a plus).
- Excellent oral and written command of English; excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Self-driven and results-oriented, with strong leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required by business needs and spend over 65% on the road.
