We’re looking for a Senior QA Engineer to become our first dedicated internal QA professional and take ownership of quality across our products and services. This is a hands-on, technical role with significant ownership. Our systems are primarily backend and API-driven, so your focus will be on backend, API, integration, and end-to-end testing rather than simply testing the UI. You’ll work closely with developers and DevOps to understand how our systems work, identify risks early, investigate complex issues, improve test coverage, and ensure that releases are ready for production.
As our first dedicated QA hire, you’ll also have the opportunity to shape how QA is done across the company — from test strategy and automation to processes, tooling, and release quality. We’re looking for someone technical, pragmatic, and curious who enjoys going beyond the UI to investigate APIs, databases, logs, infrastructure, and real-world system behavior.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Own and continuously improve our QA strategy, processes, and testing approach.
- Plan and execute manual, exploratory, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing.
- Test REST APIs and end-to-end business flows using Postman, cURL, or similar tools.
- Review requirements early and identify risks, edge cases, ambiguities, and missing scenarios.
- Define and maintain test plans, regression coverage, and release criteria.
- Build and maintain automated regression and end-to-end tests using Playwright or similar frameworks.
- Investigate and troubleshoot issues using application logs, databases, metrics, and monitoring tools.
- Work with GCP and Azure environments and cloud logging/monitoring tools.
- Use SQL to validate data and investigate issues, ideally with PostgreSQL.
- Collaborate closely with developers and DevOps on defects, environments, deployments, and technical investigations.
- Reproduce, isolate, document, and follow up on issues through to resolution.
- Provide QA approval, risk assessment, and release readiness recommendations for production releases.
- Help establish practical QA standards, processes, and best practices across the company.
Skills We Cannot Do Without

- Strong experience testing REST APIs and end-to-end business flows using Postman, cURL, or similar tools.
- Ability to identify risks, edge cases, and missing scenarios during requirements and technical reviews.
- Experience building and maintaining automated regression and end-to-end tests, using Playwright or similar frameworks.
- Good SQL skills, ideally with PostgreSQL.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience working with logs, databases, metrics, and monitoring tools.

- Comfortable working closely with developers and DevOps on technical investigations and releases.
- Ability to make QA approval and risk-based release recommendations.
