Head – Biotech Incubator

Athens LifeTech Park (ALTP), the first biotech park in Southeastern Europe, founded with the vision to become a global catalyst for life science innovation, is now looking to hire an inspiring and strategic leader to serve as Head of Biotech Incubator.

With the mission of advancing drug discovery & early drug development initiatives for the benefit of patients worldwide, ALTP hosts multiple activities essential to drug discovery & development, including a Preclinical Research Services unit, a Biotech Incubator capable of hosting biotech companies, and a Translational Research Center. 

This role is key to building a vibrant, globally connected biotech innovation community in Greece. The Head of the Biotech Incubator will lead its operations, strategic growth, and external partnerships, supporting early-stage companies from research to clinical translation. They will oversee incubation programs, drive startup engagement, and help ventures reach their technical and commercial milestones.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Ecosystem Development

• Provide strategic leadership and operational management of the biotech incubator.
• Shape and implement the strategic roadmap for the incubator in alignment with ALTP’s broader mission.
• Cultivate a thriving, diverse pipeline of biotech startups and early-stage ventures.
• Forge partnerships with universities, hospitals, venture capitalists, pharmaceutical companies, and public institutions.
• Represent the incubator in national & international forums and grant platforms , promoting ALTP as a European biotech hub.

Operations & Program Management

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the incubator, ensuring an excellent environment for startups to grow.
• Design and deliver founder-support programs, including mentoring, shared services, and funding access.
• Manage budget planning, reporting, and KPI tracking to ensure sustainable growth and impact.
• Work closely with facilities and lab management to provide cutting-edge infrastructure and services.

Founder & Stakeholder Engagement

• Serve as a visible and accessible leader for incubated companies—coaching founders, anticipating needs, and unlocking opportunities.
• Build and manage a network of advisors, mentors, and experts to support startup development.
• Act as the bridge between internal teams and external collaborators, ensuring alignment and execution.

Requirements:

• PhD or Master’s in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in biotech incubators, biotech parks, venture building within biotech funds or similar positions.
• Strong understanding of biotech commercialization, startup lifecycle, and funding ecosystems.
• Track record of operational leadership within high-impact scientific, entrepreneurial, or translational environments.
• Excellent communication (Fluency in English), leadership, and organizational skills.
• A passion for building and contributing to a mission-driven ecosystem in a globally emerging region.
• Network of industry mentors, investors, and funding agencies.
