We are looking for a highly skilled Chief Accountant to join our team.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department ensuring efficiency and compliance with accounting and tax regulations, as well as internal policies
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing process of the subsidiaries in accordance with local and international accounting standards.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, overseeing the preparation and submission of VAT, payroll tax, income tax, transfer pricing files and other tax returns.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures while facilitating collaboration between the accounting department and other business units.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including tax authorities, auditors, and financial advisors.
  • Conduct and oversee the annual tax audit, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Align the subsidiary financial reporting with Group accounting policies and oversee statutory audits conducted at subsidiary level.
  • Collaboration with the Financial Controller on monthly reporting.
  • Prepare ad hoc external and internal reports according to top management requirements.
  • Supervise a team of accountants.

Job Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the Construction/Real Estate/ Facility Management/Public-Private Partnership/Energy Sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master’s degree or ACCA certification will be considered a plus.
  • Qualified accountant with A Class signatory rights.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and local accounting standards.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and hands-on experience with ERP systems/ SAP (FI-CO).
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with results-oriented approach.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent business writing and verbal communication in both Greek and English
  • Capability to work independently.
